Orion Group Life Sciences are looking for a Pay Roll Specialist for our Multinational Pharmaceutical client based in the Cambridgeshire area on an initial 3-month contract with the potential to extend.

Candidate will be working remotely for the 3 Months, this is a part time (22.5 hours per week) across 4 days.

Job Purpose
An outstanding opportunity exists for an experienced payroll professional to join our team based in Cambridge. In this pivotal role the Payroll Specialist will work alongside our existing payroll specialist who will be dedicating their time to rolling out a large project.

Main Responsibilities of the role

  • Coordinate and manage/process two separate monthly payrolls across the UK and Ireland
  • Collaborate directly with external partners Pension providers, European HR and Benefit platform provider improving SLAs and efficiencies where necessary.
  • Interact closely with colleagues in HR and Finance to provide quality services to staff internally
  • Process all Long Term Incentive share related activities correctly in collaboration with the global stock plan team
  • Liaise with auditors, both internal and external
  • Manage the UK tax obligations of international transferees in collaboration with PwC
  • Ensure, together with the Finance department, that all statutory payments are made and any Benefit In Kind is processed accordingly
  • Complete all annual returns including P11d and P60 process
  • Respond to employees' payroll queries with the commitment to the provision of excellent customer service to a diverse and demanding customer base
  • Understand current payroll legislation changes and apply them to the payroll process.
  • Assist in the management of the company vehicle fleet.

    Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate
  • A minimum of 4 years experience
    * Payroll experience within an International Organisation an advantage
    * CIPP qualification preferred but not essential
  • Demonstrated experience, competence and accuracy in the administration and processing of complex payrolls
    * Highly proficient in payroll systems, ADP Freedom experience would be a distinct advantage.
    * Detail oriented with strong organizational skills
    * Excellent written and verbal communication skills
    * Experience in managing UK and Irish payrolls (desirable) for an international company with a Global Stock Plan/Long Term Incentives
    * Excellent numeric and spread sheeting skills (Excel)
    * Strong communication and interpersonal skills
    * Well-developed oral and written communication style
    * Assumes responsibility and accountability
    * Works collaboratively to achieve a desired outcome
    * Process minded working approach
    * Acts with integrity, is driven and proactive
    * Flexible attitude and ability to remain professional under pressure
