Orion Group are delighted to be working with a well know and established client in Edinburgh City Centre. We are looking for an experienced Payroll Executive to join the organisation on a part time basis working between 2 and 3 days per week. Interviews for this position will be in December for a January start date.

What is involved in the role:

  • Working in the payroll team you will look after 2 payrolls which run monthly for over 200 staff
  • Reconcile the monthly payrolls
  • Ensure accuracy and timely payment
  • Prepare and provide reports for internal and external bodies
  • Submit regulatory submissions to TAX authorities
  • Submit other payroll deductions
  • Keep up to date with payroll changes and legislation's
  • Respond to any queries and provide feedback and advice
  • Carry out regular data cleanse to be in line with GDPR
  • Keep and maintain accurate records of all payroll activities
  • Work with finance manager to deliver any projects
  • Continual process improvement where applicable

Experience which would be beneficial:

  • Payroll qualification, or studying towards one
  • Good range of systems experience
  • Use of Excel and other Microsoft packages
  • Understanding of GDPR and the implications
  • Experience in a similar fast paced high volume environment
  • Understanding of other departments within finance i.e credit control

Additional Information:

  • Monday to Friday 8.45am-5pm
  • 1 hour lunch
  • Flexible working is available within reason
  • 10 days holiday plus 4 statutory (part time allocation)
  • Salary will rise by £3000 over time (FTE)
