Reporting into the Managing Director, my client is looking for an Operations Manager, who will be based at their Head Office, which is situated between Edinburgh Airport and Edinburgh city centre. My client is a well established, highly reputable business, who pride themselves on delivering outstanding service to their customers.

As the Operations Manager; You will ensure that all operational activities within the centres are consistently held to an excellent high standard. You will drive continual improvement in quality, efficiency and safety of all activities across all locations and play a leading role in supporting and delivering growth.

You responsibilities will include;

  • Full responsibility for Health & Safety across the entire business
  • Implementation and development of full induction and ongoing training and development systems
  • Provision of all technical, practical and safety training and development
  • Provision and delivery of customer service standards and performance in all centres.
  • Implementation, monitoring and improvement of standard operating procedures to ensure consistent application of established best practice
  • Measurement, reporting, monitoring of appropriate metrics to drive improved and consistent standards in quality, efficiency and safety of all operations
  • Cost control responsibility for all operating expenses and monitoring of centre performance against established efficiency and cost benchmarks
  • Procurement at best value of all centre stock for resale, maximizing product margin.
  • Provision of cost effective and professional stock management services
  • Procurement and commissioning of all capital expenditure for centres
  • Establishment and commissioning of all aspects of new operating centre facilities
  • Management and monitoring of key supplier relationships
  • Full participation in regional and centre reviews and budget-setting processes
  • Delivery of sales performance of centres within Edinburgh.
  • Involvement in recruitment decisions for key centre and regional roles

Additionally, you will;

  • Ability to motivate and inspire teams creating a vision for their areas of responsibility
  • Commercially and Financially astute with experience of managing £1M+ depots
  • Strong organisational skills and a high level of computer literacy
  • Extensive experience of operations management
  • Collaborative style and strong interpersonal skills.
  • Communication - Ability to provide clear direction at all levels on all areas of performance.
  • Ability to engage, develop and coach teams to improve performance and capability
