Job Profile Summary

Responsible for managing a team to deliver safe, optimal and environmentally sound operations, whilst developing the team's technical capabilities and supporting standardisation and consistency of operations.

Accountable for leading a team to deliver safe, reliable, efficient and environmentally sound oil terminal operations.

Responsibilities include:

* ensuring compliance with all legislative requirements, good industry practice and safety management system as applicable to the storage and distribution of crude oil, petrol, diesel and biofuels

* ensuring the fuels quality assurance programme is implemented and maintained to the appropriate standard

* ensuring that that all team members are competent to undertake their activities and progress through defined training programs

* ensuring that terminal operations follow appropriate procedures and risk assessments, and take ownership of those documents

* monitoring agreed key performance indicators, tracking performance versus plan and taking appropriate action to close deviations from target

* compliance with all aspects of control of work, ensuring enough permit cover by competent personnel

* achieving and maintaining personal competence for permit to work authorisations

* proactively manage relationships with third party contractors to maintain safe operations and maintenance and to meet contractual targets

* act as single point of contact for Department for Transport and terminal liaison with Dangerous Goods Safety Adviser

* ensuring operational activities are coordinated with planned maintenance works to deliver all maintenance safely with minimum impact on stakeholders and the customer

* providing support to Engineering projects, participating in HAZOP, LOPA and PHSSER to ensure safe execution of the right projects from inception, through construction and commissioning and on to handover for operation

* working within procurement guidelines in order to ensure all goods/services are fit for purpose, represent good value and are compliant with the contractor assurance program

* maintaining strong line of communication with Stock Accounting Team and ensure timely resolution of any issues relating to hydrocarbon accounting
