The Role

The Operations Director will be responsible for directing and managing the organisation's back office operations activities and ensuring the business is running as agile as possible. With a particular focus in billing, administration, metering and settlements the role will also have an involvement in the overall day-to-day running of the organisation. The business is a Utility business that supplies consumers across the UK.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Overseeing and directing all operational activities for the organisation
  • Identifying opportunities to streamline business processes and systems
  • Ensuring consistency in processes and systems
  • Translating the company's strategic plans into defined operational and functional plans
  • Defining performance management KPI's to monitor operational success against objectives
  • Reporting to the board on operation activities towards business goals
  • Restructuring business activities to increase efficiency
  • Working alongside other members of the business on business projects
  • Establishing a culture of continuous business improvement
  • Working with the business leaders to identify other value add services

Key Skills & Experience Required

The ideal candidate for this role should have strong experience within back office operations in the Utilities sector, ideally gas and electricity within the consumer market. Being able to work in a fast paced environment, which is ever changing, is a must but to also have the gravitas and commercial acumen to ensure that the business is reaching its full potential. Ideally a graduate you will possess excellent communication skills, superior knowledge of business functions, exceptional budgeting and finance skills, and strong leadership qualities.

  • Back office operations experience within the Energy sector is a must
