Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Offshore Construction Vessel Manager, based in Ghana.

Responsibilities:
* Act as the company's Lead representative and responsible for all activities onboard MPCV.
* Demonstrate leadership and exercise role as company's representative onboard.
* Promote safety awareness and broad application of the company's system, codes of practice, and policies.
* Manage all the company's third-party contractors.
* Exercise effective document control in accordance with the company's requirements.
* Ensure timely and effective close-out of safety audit action items.
* Monitor vessel safety issues ensuring effective close-out.
* Ensure changes of management procedures (MoC) are appropriately applied.
* Manage the operations of the MPCV through departmental vessel management.
* Ensure timely, effective reporting and investigation of all incidents from EHS rep.
* Liaise effectively with all relevant company's onshore departments (Projects and Engineering, Sekondi Yard, Marine, HSE, etc), and FPSO (OIM).
* Manage vessel movements (in/out) offshore Fields, FPSO Exclusion Zones, Harbors... liaising with FPSO OIM and Marine Department.
* Manage crew changes in accordance with Operations and logistics requirements liaising with Vessel master, Aviation, logistics and P&E
* Manage welfare and disciplinary issues with vessel master in a timely and effective manner.
* Efficient operation of the facility with due regard for health, safety and welfare of all personnel.
* Organize planning and scheduling of works and activities.
* Manage emergency response with due regard for safety of personnel, vessel, and environment.
* Demonstrate knowledge and awareness of potential emergency scenarios.
* Responsible for ensuring the vessel Permit to Work system is utilized.
* Daily communication with vessel representative onboard MPCV to discuss safety, operation in general, coming subsea operations and any issues of concern.
* Continuously monitor safety performance and standard onboard.
* Continuously monitor maintenance performance, back log, use of spares, and general condition of the company's provided equipment.
* Ensure that safety is always of priority and in line with "Incident Free"
* Always observe the company's values and in all matters
* Ensure that all activities are performed in a cost-effective manner
* Maintain focus on technical excellence and innovation
* Support collaboration and integration across projects, departments and locations and accelerate learning and knowledge sharing
* Ensure - before decisions are made - that safety, economical, and commercial evaluation are carried out in order to ensure optimal dispositions
* Ensure that all information, written as well as verbal, concerning the company is treated confidentially
* Promote career development and training with the company's trainees.
* Ensure vessel stays in compliance with class, flag, and port state requirements.
* Ensure vessel follows the company's environmental standards.
* Ensure training and exercises are conducted in accordance with requirements.
* Ensure exercises are recorded, effective, with appropriate de-brief and analysis.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Significant project experience in installation-specific and/or project management and execution.
* Significant overall subsea construction experience in offshore oil and gas production and handling facilities
* Significant experience in structural, pipelines, umbilicals, risers, manifolds fabrication and installation
* Subsea project/construction experience in various remote locations with oil and gas (Africa or India in particular)
* Experience in Offshore Oil and Gas Inspection, Maintenance and Repair (IMR) works
* Experience in working for an Oil Operating Company
* Subsea brownfield retrofit project experience
* Subsea Deepwater construction experience
