Job Title: Nuclear Safety Engineer

Location: Bristol

The Role: This role is working within the Nuclear team for an international engineering consultancy this role will play an important role in the development of the new nuclear build, Hinckley Point C. This role will involve providing safety case advice during the design, operation and decommissioning phases of nuclear facilities. This role also entails the production of nuclear safety documentation according to Site Licence conditions.

Experience: Experience producing nuclear safety documentation according to Site Licence conditions. With an understanding of:

Hazard/fault identification studies e.g. HAZOP, FMEA, etc;

  • Qualitative and Quantitative Hazard Assessments;
  • Radiological Hazard Assessments;
  • Probabilistic Safety Assessments;
  • Safety Case preparation (e.g. EC, PMP, PSR, PCSR, LSS etc);
  • Support to Engineering Substantiation studies;
  • Safety management studies.
  • Nuclear technology technical reports.
  • EC production (Cat 1 and Cat 2)
  • Fault studies
  • AGR and PWR and BWR Station procedures and manuals.
  • Design Authority technical reports

Qualifications: * Relevant degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline * Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership * Demonstrable record of delivering technically challenging projects * Experience in safety case production and hazard analysis * English fluent - written & verbal
