Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Network & Security Architect, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Day-to-day leadership, coaching and management of the network & security team
* Provide the Technical Architect/Authority function for the design, selection and planning, installation, configuration, deployment, maintenance and management of the LAN, WLAN, WAN and perimeter security infrastructure across the organisation
* Overall responsibility for the operational lifecycle of the network & security infrastructure across the organisation; including installation, operation, maintenance, management, support and decommissioning
* Develop a security infrastructure, recognise threats and vulnerabilities to the company and mitigate potential security risks in order to maintain the integrity, confidentiality and availability of data and devices
* Ensure consistency of device hardware, configurations, profiles, standards and naming conventions across the organisation
* Ensure ongoing proactive monitoring, logging, fault resolution, system upgrades, administration & maintenance, security, IOS patching, backup management / system recovery of the infrastructure
* Review and validate DR services including system and service resilience, off site backup, equipment maintenance contracts and onsite spares
* Produce system performance/capacity statistics, diagnostic information as well as site "as built" documentation for the supported infrastructure
* Define, plan, coordinate, manage and deliver identified projects to agreed scope, budget, time and quality criteria; ensure that all projects introducing changes to the network & security infrastructure go through the 'handover to operations' process before close-out
* Ensure Capacity & Business Continuity Planning is in operation
* Contribute to the development of and ensure compliance with defined policies, standards, processes and guidelines
* Build and manage network & security supplier relationships; including maintenance and service level management, contract management, resource management as well as periodic supplier performance reviews
* Liaise with external service support organisations as required
* Adhere to the IS Change Management process, ensure that changes affecting our business are communicated effectively; liaise with IS colleagues to successfully plan and execute changes
* Provide technical input and recommendations on offshore Telecoms systems for projects
* Oversee delivery of Telecoms services/systems for projects

Experience & Qualifications:
* Demonstrable experience in a senior/lead networking and security role
* HND/Degree qualifications are favourable, professional technical accreditations from industry bodies are preferred
* Oil industry experience is favourable
* Previous demonstrable experience of performing a similar Technical Architect/Authority function in a multi-national Corporate environment
* Diligent and security conscious with the ability to weigh up the threats, vulnerabilities and risks to the organisation and implement appropriate solutions or measures that do not impact the continued operation of the Business
* Excellent technical analysis skills
* Project Management certification or equivalent demonstrable work experience
* Ability to lead, motivate, coach and develop direct reports to ensure there is an appropriate level of competence, knowledge, experience and service delivery attitude within the team
* A methodical and structured approach to problem solving, selecting and effectively utilising appropriate methods, procedures, tools, equipment and standards, to meet all targets set
* Ability to identify gaps in the available information required to understand a problem or situation, and devise a means of remedying such gaps
* Maintains knowledge of relevant current and emerging technologies through literature, conferences / seminars, and professional networking with other leading practitioners and professional bodies
* Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) with Security accreditation is preferred
* Experienced in the installation, configuration & ongoing support of core network/security technologies and products including but not limited to CISCO Nexus series switches, supervisor & switch blades, 29xx/37xx/38XX/4500X series switches, ASA firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS modules as well as wireless controllers and access points
* Experience with PulseSecure appliances and Checkpoint NG Firewalls would be advantageous
* Offshore Medical & Survival Certificates preferred
