Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Mechanical Support Engineer, based in Aberdeen

Responsibilities will include:
Manage the short terms and strategic maintenance of mechanical equipment to ensure the safe and reliable operation of mechanical systems at all times.
Ensure delivery to current maintenance strategies for equipment whilst supporting the development and implementation of improved maintenance and reliability strategies.
Manage critical and operational spares with the aim of ensuring spares are available in support of planned and unplanned maintenance activities.
Carryout engineering studies, and root cause investigations where required in support of delivering to an agenda of continuous improvement.
Review equipment reliability and availability with the aim of creating improvement plans to eliminate bad actors and improve mean time between maintenance for business critical equipment.
Support the development and improvement of maintenance support contracts with the aim of improving their effectiveness in delivering maintenance.
Ensure maintenance activities are delivered in accordance with regulatory requirements, company standards and company procedures at all times.
Provide technical support to the offshore teams in trouble shooting equipment outages where required.
Act as the single point of accountability for the planning, scheduling and execution of onshore supported maintenance activities.
Act as the focal point for monitoring the effectiveness of condition based maintenance and co-ordinate third party vendors in the delivery of equipment reliability improvement.

Experience
A proven track record in managing and co-ordinating maintenance activities in support of adherence to regulatory requirements.
A proven track record in trouble shooting reliability and production impacting events across all categories of mechanical equipment within an offshore oil and gas environment.
A proven track record in developing maintenance budgets and controlling expenditure for maintenance activities.
Significant experience in the delivery of maintenance and reliability improvement across all categories of mechanical equipment within an offshore oil and gas environment.
A significant understanding of the technical standards and specifications for the design, maintenance and operation of all categories of mechanical equipment within an offshore oil and gas environment.
A proven track record in managing the delivery of engineering and maintenance support to an offshore installation whilst working as a member of an onshore operations support team

Qualifications
A Degree in Mechanical Engineering
O&G industry experience
