Our Generation business is responsible for the operation and maintenance of our generation assets and ensuring the plant is available for use by Energy Portfolio Management.

A combined cycle gas fuel 710MW Power Station with two combustion turbines and one steam turbine located on the Isle of Grain in northeast Kent. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Maintenance Technician to support the maintenance of the site.

As a key member of our team, you will focus on the implementation of planned and emergent maintenance of plant. This will include ensuring key mechanical plant areas are maintained, Implementing Safe Systems of Work including the production of Risk Assessments, Method Statements (RAMS) and Safety Plans using MAXIMO.

Delivering programmed maintenance on plant and equipment will ensure you minimise repeat defects and maximise availability and reliability throughout the Station. You will also be responsible for carrying out first line investigations and identifying plant improvements related to Safety, reliability and efficiency. Managing and supervision of third party contractors and suppliers will also be your responsibility.

With a strong focus on Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) and the ability to manage working parties, you should demonstrate knowledge, experience and understanding of the maintenance of Power Stations or similar heavy engineering or process plants. You must also have the ability to understand technical manuals, drawings and job specifications to enable the diagnosis of faults and defects on plant. These technical elements require you to have a minimum of ONC or NVQ level 3 in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent and to have served a recognised apprenticeship.
