Mechanical Design Engineer (District Energy)

Salary: Up to £55,000

Location: Reading or London

My client is seeking an Mechanical Design Engineering. Role would include designs, develops, delivers and manages distributed generation assets for delivery to customers. Working both in the design and build and ESCO markets, the Heat team provide a turn-key in-house design-develop solution and then brings in specialist construction sub-contractors, including, our in-house M&E business, to deliver these projects.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop and design District Energy networks. A key part of the role is to carry out District heating and cooling system design and design review. You will report to Lead Mechanical Design Engineer and engage with other teams in Project Delivery, Commercial, Assets and O&M in order to successfully deliver projects.

You'll be qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent, with knowledge of hydraulics and thermal engineering as part of your education. Experience with AutoCAD is essential as well as evidence of good excel skills and knowledge of Macros.

Within this role, your responsibilities will be to deliver district heating and cooling design including HIU, distribution network and Energy Centre. You'll carry out network performance analysis, energy consumption, system efficiency and Design Reviews as well as technical, commercial and SHE risk assessments. You'll support Operations and Maintenance, Performance, Commercial functions where required

A strong team player, you will have exceptional attention to detail with a flexible attitude to engineering solutions and have the ability to work under pressure and respond constructively to conflicting priorities.
