FIELD Superintendent (Must have strong mechanical background)
Job Description and Qualifications
The position of Field Superintendent is within the GEMTE Field Execution Organization and reports to the Manager of Construction, Core - Americas. Key responsibilities of this position are to provide direct management of field construction activities in HyCO, Air Separation, and other process gas technologies for facilities that constructs.
The Field Superintendent is responsible for leading the execution of construction contracts at a project site with primary responsibility for meeting safety performance, quality, schedule, and cost objectives. In this role, the FCM will lead the onsite construction activity, managing contract values $10MM to $300MM, total capital project value.
Candidates can be located anywhere in the United States. This position requires 100% travel and will be located at the assigned project site. Typical assignments are 1-2 years at a single location; however, applicants should anticipate occasional, short-term assignments, between major projects. Applicants must be flexible regarding project locations.
The Field Superintendent shall be capable of:
* Driving and implementing a progressive safety program with the goal of zero incidents.
* Representing in a professional manner.
* Planning and coordinating the activities of multiple subcontractors.
* Leading construction contracts to ensure safety, quality and schedule.
* Clearing execution obstacles to provide opportunities for subcontractors to be successful.
* Analyzing contractor progress and quickly identifying deficiencies.
* Leading RFIs, CCOs, and mitigating cost and schedule issues.
* Collaborating with the AP Project team, subcontractors, inspectors, and others in an encouraging and professional manner.
* Reporting and forecasting progress utilizing construction efficiency software
The Field Superintendent shall:
* Display all characteristics of leadership on the construction site, including being a Leader of Safety on the site and with the workforce.
* Execute work practices (e.g., Job Safety Assessments, Safety Audits, Quality Assurance, Security Protocols, and Progress Measurement).
* Provide daily update and Weekly Reports (e.g., Weekly Meetings Notes, General Updates, and Contract Administration, Safety, Quality, and Progress issues).
* Understand project timing needs, assess and manage the plan and execution to achieve the required achievements.
* Proactively and expediently communicate issues to the Project Manager and project team.
* Lead the turnover of completed construction systems and commissioned system to .
* Participate in efforts to improve group work processes and capabilities.
Candidates for this position will be evaluated based on the following:
* An attitude and proven proficiency to deliver Safety on a construction site.
* A proven record of high performance with at least 10 years of heavy industrial construction experience OR 2 years of industry experience plus Bachelor of Science in Construction Management, Construction Engineering OR combination of industry experience and bachelor's degree
* A track record of success in safety, quality, contract management, planning, and progress tracking.
* Proven leadership and social skills.
* A strong dedication to employee involvement, team building and diversity.
* Experience with P6, MS Project, Earned Value schedules, Productivity Tracking or Go Completions
* Construction experience with Air Separation Units or Steam-Methane Reformers is a plus, but not necessary
* Crane lift supervision is a plus
