Our client are looking for a Mechanical (CAD) Engineer to join the team based in Bristol supporting a package of work on Hinkley Point C. We are interested in candidates with engineering and design experience covering heavy industry projects. The preference would be for an engineer with engineering for manufacture/fabrication.

Nuclear sector related projects, focus on larger scale steel structures, pressure vessels and tanks.

Detailed key responsibilities:

Working under the supervision of the Chief Engineer and liaising on a daily basis with their clients, the successful candidate will complete design and modelling work on a variety of projects. The role will include:

  • Designing and modelling new components
  • Modifying and reverse engineering existing components
  • Creating detail drawings for manufacturing
  • Create specifications
  • Supporting the manufacturing department in determining manufacturing methods and processes
  • Support their Bid teams

The role will be working on one of the largest infrastructure projects on the site with anticipated work up until 2024 in the first instance.

Workplace skills / Experience

  • Sufficient engineering capability and experience to create effective engineered solutions
  • Computer literate (Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Project).
  • Ability to analyse and interpret specification document, technical procedures and relevant professional journals.
  • Tanks, Liners, pressure vessels, boilers, heat exchangers experience all applicable for role
  • Knowledge of welding for design
  • Knowledge of designing with mild steel, stainless steel or carbon
