The role exists to ensure all wells are drilled safely, compliant with all regulations, and efficiently to meet defined well objectives in accordance with the Statement of Requirements (SOR) while meeting the expectations of the New Wells Common Process. This delivery requires collaboration and effective communication across Subsurface and Wells teams.

  • Liaise with Renewal and/or Asset Geoscientists to ensure the well planning activities and documents continue to meet the target objectives and desired outcomes articulated for the well.
  • Assume primary responsibility for seismic description of the overburden. Generate depth prognoses (with uncertainty ranges) for appropriate surfaces and faults. Work with directional engineer to design well paths that meet subsurface well objectives while avoiding or mitigating drilling/completion risks.
  • Assist in the creation of pre-drill risk registers and ensure mitigation and contingency plans are created for all geological risks.
  • Support and/or lead the construction of the SOR document ensuring the well objectives, data acquisition, and all relevant overburden characterization elements are contained.
  • Ensure integration of well planning and operational activity through strong collaboration with key stakeholders, including Subsurface and Wells leadership.
  • Assist in the construction of the (Geological Operations Plan (GOP), ensuring all relevant information is contained in this document.

Geological Operations:
