Manufacturing Systems Engineer

About the job

Our client is upgrading and expanding its production plant for production of Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP). You are responsible for providing effective control system solutions for the production equipment that manufactures Thermoplastic Composite Pipe (TCP). You will develop and apply automation and control technology solutions for continuous improvement, capability expansion and further optimisation of the TCP manufacturing process.

Main responsibilities:

  • Development, design and maintenance of the controls system architecture
  • Troubleshooting and upgrading existing controls installations
  • Testing and optimisation of controls software
  • PLC, SCADA and HMI programming
  • Hardware purchasing and installation
  • Ownership of software change management and version control policies

Skills and experience:

  • Master's degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, or equivalent
  • At least 10 years' experience in manufacturing controls design and/or programming
  • Ability to specify and design entire controls system architecture
  • Experience with industrial CAN networks, ISA 88 and/or 95, communication protocols
  • Ability to manage external software and hardware suppliers
  • Strong problem solving and process troubleshooting capability
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Experience with Beckhoff, Lenze or Zenon systems is a plus

The team

You will be part of the Manufacturing Engineering Team. The team is a multi-disciplinary team of engineers that carries out and optimises the TCP manufacturing processes, and works closely with the production operators.
