Job Purpose:

The Manufacturing Manager is a general leadership position which will support the GM by leading their site to manufacture our clients products in the most efficient, timely, cost effective and sustainable manner possible whilst never compromising on Health, Safety or Quality.

Job Responsibilities:

  1. Demonstrate Health and Safety Leadership in all interactions and ensure that Health and Safety is at the forefront of all processes
  2. Drive Operational excellence through challenging the use of process, people, and raw materials to ensure the greatest productivity and profit whilst maintaining product quality and consistency in a sustainable operation
  3. Help site achieve its optimum return on the investment made
  4. Influence the mill's operating plan and budget by fully understanding the potential return on process improvements and ensuring their smooth execution
  5. Provide business case where appropriate for Capital Investment
  6. Create and foster an environment of mutual trust and respect for others
  7. Shape the strategic site plan through understanding and conveying what's possible
  8. Establish optimum staffing levels through reviewing operating practices and developing new ways of working
  9. Educate and develop Managers in both Manufacturing Excellence Principles and Coaching For Performance Techniques
  10. Work with the Senior Team to establish what good looks like in each area and support implementation and measurement of process change
  11. Make sound decisions on any plant or people issue whilst operating under pressure
  12. Deputise for the GM when required
