Manual Machinist, Portsmouth, £12 per hour to £14 per hour

Due to expansion, our client are seeking an experienced Manual Machinist for their site to the north of Portsmouth.

Overall Purpose of the job:

To operate various machine tools to manufacture and repair mechanical assemblies to meet job specifications and to the satisfaction of the customer and the management team.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform milling operations such as drilling, tapping, boring and conventional lathe and milling work.
  • Perform various metalizing techniques as required.
  • Balance mechanical assemblies using dynamic balancing equipment.
  • Use hand-held and stationary power and non-power tools.
  • Record all data necessary to produce expected service or design results.
  • Maintain machines in good working order and report any defects to management.
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Undertake Mechanical Fitting Work in the Workshop and on Customer sites when required.
  • Keep work area neat and tidy.
  • Follow all company Health and Safety procedures and wear the correct PPE.
  • Carry out any other reasonable request.

This role is working a day shift, Monday to Friday, 8am to 4pm, overtime possible.

This role is commutable from Portsmouth, Havant, Waterlooville, Petersfield, Chichester, Fareham, Portchester.
