Our client, a successful and innovative manufacturing business is seeking to appoint a qualified Management Accountant.

Key candidate skill set:

  • Fully Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/CA)
  • Min 5 years manufacturing experience
  • Experience on ERP System (SAP, Microsoft AX, JD Edwards)
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Good knowledge of Word, Access and Powerpoint

Job Purpose

Actively involved in all aspects of the business, with specific responsibility for monthly management reporting, budgeting and forecasting and cost controlling function whilst demonstrating a knowledge and understanding of the external environment within which we operate to identify opportunities that may be of benefit to the business.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To contribute to the overall business in the creation and delivery of Strategy, Policies and Objectives, Forecasting and Operating Plans
  • To contribute and stimulate the definition and set up of internal procedures and following internal audit
  • To provide the ongoing provision of financial and management reporting (by business line), by the 7th working day of each month, within the business, associated companies and relevant external parties and to the Group
  • Ensure the continuous delivery of management reporting that is focused on information that devolves to the lowest reasonable level responsibility for the management of cost centres and the creation of timely and accurate forecasting.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process, working with Managers and Directors to deliver the annual plan and the quarterly forecasts and then monthly ensure each department is keeping in line their budgetary requirements.
  • Support the financial auditing of the business
  • Support accounting manager and finance team in keeping clear and reconciled ledgers and books.
  • Manage product costing and cost accounting, ensuring the effectiveness of standard costs and rates, analysing and explaining variances monthly
  • Manage standard cost updating process and variances set up and analysis
  • Ensure the continuous development and improvement in timeous, robust and efficient controlling systems and procedures in line with Group procedures. Support Group IT Department in the management of the ERP system set up, reporting and training
  • Develop strong relationships and networks with local and Group colleagues.
