A global leader who is expanding across the world with the cutting edge technology is seeking a Level 1 Technical Support Engineer for their team in Guildford, Surrey.

This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate ie Software Development/Computer Science/Engineering etc This role is not a stepping stone to a Network Engineer it is a role where you will learn, develop and identify your tech preference. The company offers training but does require someone who has initiative and can think on their feet!

Essential

  • Graduate
  • 1st Class Customer Support
  • Knowledge of software development with languages such as PHP, C#, PERL or equivalent
  • Working knowledge and experience with databases such as MySQL
  • Knowledge of GSM networks
  • Good experience with IP Networks, networking concepts and router technology
  • Experience/understanding of communication protocols and concepts such as TCP/UDP, IP, NAT, Port Forwarding, FTP, RS232, RS422
  • Keen interest in technology
  • Clear, concise and confident communication skills
  • Exposure and understanding of computers, networks and software development
  • Ability to understand and articulate computer networking, IP addressing and Ethernet protocols

  • Manage inbound calls / emails
  • Solve/Assign support tickets
  • IT customer ticket management
  • Excellent time management
  • Adhering to strict SLA's
  • Good technical problem solving skills
  • Delivering a high level service to customers
  • Resolving/escalating customer issues
  • Ad hoc project work
  • Occassional travel to customer sites
