Job description
Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Lead Well Engineer (CCS), based in Aberdeen.
Responsibilities:
* Assessment of existing technology, for application on CCS / wells projects.
* Progress CCS wells through the full lifecycle - license application, to detailed design and execution.
* Prepare all well concepts in compliance with local statutory requirements and the company's corporate policies, standards and procedures.
* Provide production technology related expertise to support well concept decisions.
* Well inflow and outflow performance modelling and optimisation
* Conceptual well and completion design,
* Design of well/reservoir interface (including sand management),
* Well, Reservoir and Facility Management (including production system modelling and optimisation) and Well Integrity Management (including specification of the operating envelope for the well).
* Understand the impact of completion concepts on production performance for the life of the well
* Manage the well planning process as per the Well Delivery Process (WDP) and ensure compliance.
* Prepare scopes of work and appropriate specifications for procurement of the company's studies, equipment and services.
* Technical lead for assigned contracts. Responsible for managing the agreed relationship with service providers and in setting the KPIs with the Contract Owner and C&P Specialist
* Prepare scoping, budgetary and AFE level completion costs. Monitor field costs and analyse variances.
* Monitor and measure performance against expectations. Analyse variances and act as a focal point for lessons learned.
* Effective liaison and communication with the subsurface and drilling & wells management teams.
* Implementation of lessons learned system and championing of all performance improvement initiatives applicable to well completions performance.
* Evaluation and design of production enhancement technologies (hydraulic fracturing, acid treatment, scale control)
* Optimise production from existing wells and determine impact of completion/well intervention decisions on production performance over the life of the well.
Experience & Qualifications:
* Demonstrated capacity of working in multi-discipline teams and analytical competence
* Bachelor's degree in Drilling Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Petroleum Engineering or similar.
* Significant relevant experience in petroleum / production engineering with exposure to multiple well types.
* IWCF Well Control Certification
