Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Lead Process Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Maintain means of assurance activities required to achieve and maintain the performance standards for process related safety and environmental critical equipment over the asset life cycle.
* Ensure appropriate process engineering input to HAZOPs, HAZIDs, Risk Assessments, SIL assessments and other technical safety assessments / audits, both during the actual assessment and during subsequent action resolution.
* Manage timely resolution of Synergi actions against the team.
* Provide SMART room and site personnel with technical support to maximise safe production.
* Analyse and resolve production / process / flow assurance issues utilising appropriate techniques, liaising with asset Field Operations,
* Propose and justify modifications to improve safety, reliability, efficiency, production, environmental and cost performance.
* Provide support to the site to ensure timely and effective delivery of modifications, including initiation of cases, design and engineering, assisting with the preparation of work packs, implementation on site and close-out for process led scopes.
* Initiate and Lead process studies for plant modifications related to process discipline
* Ensure preparation of clear, concise and comprehensive RFM dossiers, and effective handover to asset Maintenance Team or 3rd Party Engineering Company for detailed engineering and implementation.
* Ensure appropriate process engineering input to Commercial and Development studies carried out by the Performance and Growth Team.
* Ensure appropriate engineering assistance to Shutdown Team
* Liaise with the Process TA / HQ with regard to process engineering requirements, rules & specifications.
* Approve as built & design process documentation, technical reports and nonstandard isolations in line with process procedures.
* Manage the provision of flow assurance support for the following activities including preparation, review and update of flow assurance aspects of site operating procedures
* Interface and coordinate with other departments impacted by flow assurance issues: e.g. subsea, well intervention, shutdown teams and production chemistry.
* Prepare & approve scopes of work for 3rd party vendor / consultancy services to carry out study and modification work
* Undertake technical bid evaluations on 3rd party proposals
* Manage the interface between 3rd parties and site operations
* Monitor progress of 3rd parties carrying out study / design and engineering work to ensure timely and cost effective resolution of production / safety / integrity issues.
* Manage Tier 2 Process Team workload and priorities.
* Provide coaching and leadership for direct reports
* Participate in recruitment and professional development / mentoring of less experienced engineers.
* Participate in the preparation and management of the asset process team budget throughout the year.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Degree in Chemical / Process Engineering or equivalent
* Chartered or equivalent
* Extensive engineering experience in oil and gas process / production or refining.
* Extensive knowledge of onshore / offshore process and production systems, flow assurance issues and industry norms and specifications
* Management and delegation experience
