Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Lead Mechanical / Design Engineer based in Aberdeen.

As a Lead Mechanical / Design Engineer you will be responsible for activities contributing to the design and development of Open Water Installation Riser (OWIR) Systems.

Responsibilities:

Interpreting customer technical specifications, organising and leading the design reviews ensuring that all customer requirements, technical risks and past lessons learned are properly capture.

Understanding and applying design for manufacture principles for turning, machining, drilling, milling and welding processes to ensure designs are suitable and allow for efficient manufacture and assembly.

Creating work packs for delegation, review & release detail drawings, test procedures, calculation packages and installation manuals.

Undertake design verification, which may include but not limited to: Tolerance studies, design reliability, design for manufacture, simple failure analysis, design reviews, calculation packages for 3rd party verification purposes.

Implement project & product cost control.

Desired skillset:

Prior knowledge of Open Water Riser Systems / Subsea Christmas Tree systems.

Prior knowledge of relevant industry specifications (API, ISO, NORSOK, NACE).

Strong engineering design based background.
