Lead Instrumentation Engineer

- To supervise the execution of engineering, procurement, erection and commissioning for activities related to all instrumentation matters.

1. To follow-up all activities related to Instrumentation to ensure compliance with Company specifications and with the requirements of the project and contract documentation.
2. To manage technical evaluation of the bids and prepare technical recommendation with Engineering Manager.
3. To follow-up procurement, construction, expediting, FAT for his discipline.
4. Ensures that Contractor fulfils his obligations related with input to S4i Instrument database and compliance with methodology.
5. To track and follow up CONTRACTOR's activities in his/her discipline and ensure compliance with Project Specifications Codes and Standards, especially those related to safety such as PSV testing, hydrostatic testing of hook-ups, stress calculations of thermowells, proper engineering design and checking methods, compliance with qualified vendors list etc.
6. Ensures compliance with storage, preservation and protection requirements of instruments and instrument materials at site to avoid damage from hotworks or environmental conditions, etc.
7. Ensures interdisciplinary checking is performed, especially at sensitive interfaces such as between piping and instruments, anticipating problems and offering solutions.
8. To ensure that CONTRACTOR resources and organisation are adequate and competent for achieving the discipline engineering and procurement works.
9. To prepare responses to all technical requested from CONTRACTOR and Project with the aim to add value by minimising costs without sacrificing safety or the level of quality. This includes offering solutions and informing the Engineering Manager.
10. To provide detailed assistance to COMPANY Engineering Manager on derogations, exemption or modification requests.
11. To undertake technical evaluation of Change Order Requests for the parts related to the discipline.
12. To participate in all audit activities (HSE, PTRs, HAZOPS…).
13. To keep Project Technical Authority for instrumentation informed of main decisions/orientation and to coordinate for project directives to ensure homogeneous design and materials.
14. To ensure adequate workload sharing with discipline engineering, and to ensure that discipline Engineering benefits from his assignment on Project. Also, to be available to provide discipline added value point of view to other Project activities than for engineering (e.g. QA/QC activities, precom/com, start-up, O&Ms…)
15. To participate and propose solution in interfaces resolution between Contractors for all Instrumentation matters.
16. To ensure that scope of work is fulfilled in his/her discipline.
