An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Junior Technical Sales Adviser who has a passion for Audio Visual technology to join our client's expanding team at their Head Office in Dundee.

Our client is seeking someone with a passion for technical solutions to help deliver their expertly designed technology integrations. The ideal candidate has a good understanding of and interest in Audio Visual systems/components, together with a technical background. This technical foundation will ideally be coupled with a confident personality, willingness to learn and desire to succeed. They are seeking a quick learner with strong listening and negotiating skills who can help showcase their solutions in a captivating way.

They looking for a versatile person looking to move into a technical sales role and/or someone recently finished a technical course at College/University.

Ideally, you will have good technical understanding to ensure the feasibility of potential proposals principally in Audio Visual and/or one of the following key areas:


  • Pro Audio
    * Feature and Effect Lighting
    * Aerial/ Satellite and Signal Distribution
    * Voice & Data Infrastructure
    * Access Control Systems & Equipment (smart cards & wearables)

This is an exciting and challenging opportunity to work with best-in-class Audio Visual in a range of interesting and varying high-end projects, primarily within the Health & Fitness, Retail, Leisure and Hospitality sectors.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Making calls and following up with customers to meet their needs
  • Developing relationships with potential customers and maintaining good relationships with existing customers
  • Design and specification of systems and solutions (in-house, ongoing training will be provided)
  • Performing research on accounts to help increase interest in the organisation
  • Making sure to understand the individual and unique needs of each customer
  • Preparation of accurate quotations and tender submissions to tight deadlines
  • Continuous learning and development including successful completion of AVIXA training courses

Please note sales targets will be used as a key performance indicator

Qualifications and Education Requirements

HNC/HND equivalent in Audio Engineering or other technical field (preferred)

Essential Skills

  • A keen interest in and understanding of AV and/or Technology in general
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, telephone, and organisational skills
  • Approachable and professional as you may be tasked with presenting to customers, attending networking events and participating in trade shows
  • Attention to detail
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and ability to learn and adapt to new platforms as required

Desirable Skills

  • Sales experience is desirable although not essential, as long as you have the ability to build relationships, a desire to succeed and are comfortable approaching people to win new business
  • Full UK Driving Licence, the ability and willingness to travel

Training & Support

Ongoing training and support will be provided in order to ensure that the successful candidate develops the knowledge and skills required to progress within the Role and the Company.
