Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Junior Legal Advisor, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities will include:
Providing support to the wider legal and commercial teams
Monitoring changes in relevant legislation and the regulatory environment and taking appropriate action
Providing legal advice in relation to all aspects of the Company Business.
Advising on regulatory compliance issues, in particular in relation to production licences under the Petroleum Act and also in relation to matters involving OGA, BEIS and HSE.
Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements relating company's operated and non-operated assets; including SPAs, JOAs, Transportation Agreements, Product Sales etc.
Providing support to company's business development activities; in due diligence and other elements of corporate transactions
Liaison with and support to Supply Chain in relation to procurement for production operations and capital projects.
Assisting with the establishment, liquidation and management of subsidiaries, and advising on subsidiary governance.

Qualified solicitor
Proven post qualification experience in a similar role (private practice or in-house) required

Demonstrate sound experience in all aspects of upstream activities including negotiation and drafting of UKCS oil and gas agreements (confidentiality agreements, proximity and crossing agreements), handling the Master Deed process etc.
Working knowledge of industry standard agreements and practices.
An understanding of upstream E&P activity where practical experience must be demonstrated.
Comprehensive understanding of the key strategic drivers relevant to upstream operations and the risks that require to be mitigated against.
