Junior Civil Engineer:

To assist the Head of Professional Services in the delivery of Civil and Structural Engineering projects
for a variety of clients. The ideal candidate will have experience in construction/rail industry.

As a minimum, the Candidate should have the following:

  • Qualifications/experience
    • Accredited degree qualification in Civil Engineering
    • Working towards Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status
    • At least three years relevant experience in a design environment.
  • Technical abilities
    • Some experience in feasibility analysis, scheme design, detail design and
    • preparing written technical reports
    • Experience in carrying out site visits and surveys, inspections and supervise subcontractors.
    • Be proficient in design of drainage systems (Surface & foul), SUDS design and
    • Flood Risk Assessment.
    • Knowledge of the use of the MicroDrainage suite of hydraulic analysis software


In addition to the above, it is desirable that the Candidate possesses the following attributes:

  • The ability to work within a team structure and have a dedicated approach to working under supervision to meet strict deadlines.
  • Good written and oral communication skills dealing with clients, consultants, contractors and other parties.
  • Good technical report writing skills.
  • A proactive approach to multi-disciplinary projects and working with third parties.
  • Have experience working in the rail environment undertaking design projects and carrying out infrastructure inspections.
  • Have experience in Building Information Modelling
