Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Insurance and Claims Advisor, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities Include:
Supporting the Operational Leadership Team (OLT) and/or other Management Forums completing specific focused tasks, to support the continuing improvement in operational excellence and the long term company strategy.
Liaise with the Finance and Commercial Directors to ensure that risks to the businesses, whether it is corporate risk, project risk or statutory risk, have been identified and where appropriate mitigate that risk with insurance policies
Ensure best value by undertaking a competitively tendered approach to portfolio management in accordance with senior management instruction, including the preparation and submission of recommendations to Company Board if required
Continually monitor Group's activities and ensure that insurance advice is sought at an early stage of business initiatives / projects to ascertain the correct type and level of insurances are put in place
Maintain and update a register of insurances for senior management board purposes Management of Insurance Claims
To manage all insurance claims and loss handling activities with brokers, including notification, investigation and reimbursement Provision of Insurance Advice
To provide advice in relation to any and all insurance related queries from the Commercial and Operations
To provide and lead training courses on insurance matters for the Commercial team or individual staff Manage Relationship with Appointed Broker(s):
To act as principal contact and manage relationships within company Group of companies for appointed broker(s) and insurers
Any other delegated responsibilities as instructed by Line Management within the timeframe specified; in a safe and efficient manner to meet business requirements, provided the instruction is reasonable and you are capable and deemed competent to fulfil these

Qualifications & Experience
Educated to degree level, preferably with a legal qualification
Extensive work experience as an Insurance Advisor, preferably within the Energy Sector
Sound contractual knowledge and analytical skills
Excellent communication and organisational skills
Ability to work using own initiative and to work as part of multi-disciplinary team
Ability to effectively manage own workload, and work within given timescales (both internal and external), ensuring business requirements are met
Adaptability and problem solving capability
Pro-active forward looking approach
