Job description

General:
 The Instrumentation and control& safety system engineer possesses
o A demonstrable experience in instrumentation design, ideally within Oil and Gas.
o a strong technical knowledge of various ICSS platforms
o a thorough knowledge of Hierarchical Shutdown Levels Diagram, Cause & Effect Diagrams, Control &
Safeguarding Philosophy, F&G Philosophy and F&G layouts.
 He/She is in charge of ensuring that the design of new facilities or modifications to existing facilities complies
with Company specifications and codes and standards for the Project.
 He/She will advise and assist the Engineering leader in the management and control of deliverables to reach
the project objectives.
 He/She will also support and guide the Project team, including site personnel, in matters.
 He/She will put into practice the safety culture program within the project.

Mission:
 Comment contractor's deliverables in due time
 Explain comments made to Contractor and follow-up the implementation.
 Follow-up of engineering deliverables progress for her/his discipline.
 Review and propose answer to possible technical queries.
 Raise derogation requests to company corporate organisation.
 Interfaces between disciplines: Inform engineering leader and liaise with other discipline involved - mainly
PVV, mechanical, Process and safety - to ensure best trade-off between various constraints.
 Interfaces between packages: in liaison with interface leader, ensure consistency and continuity of design;
provide assistance with regards to interfaces between packages when related to his/her discipline.
 Ensure package units are properly integrated and/or interfaced to the ICSS.
 Maintain regular and good quality communication with his/her counterpart(s) on Contractor's side and put in
place technical meetings to follow up progress, explain main comments, and provide guidance etc...
 Report to Engineering leader with regards to his/her discipline: any deviations from the Company
referential, main technical issue, area of concern, progress, quality etc… Propose mitigation measures when
drift is noticed for final decision on whether or not to implement.
 Assist engineering leader with review of possible change orders, planning constraints etc when related to
his/her discipline.
 Follow-up of telecom discipline. (Limited scope)
 Conduct ICSS inspections and tests (e.g. DVT, Factory Acceptance Test and Site Acceptance Test)
 Provide regular feedback to TL/IIT and get support when necessary.
 Ensure lessons learnt from previous project are well integrated in the project for his/her discipline.
 To organise assistance from Company corporate organisation or from external specialists as necessary.
 To participate in the HAZID, HAZOP, SIL and PTR reviews and monitor the implementation of actions for
her/his discipline.
 To participate in the contractor's weekly meetings, Company meetings, etc.

Qualifications/Experience required
 Professional Experience: minimum 15 years in the oil & gas industry incl. an experience as Instrumentation
lead during detailed engineering phase and an experience with ICSS integration.
 Experience in an international environment is preferred.
 Fluency in English.
 Capable of handling the relevant IT tools (Office pack…).
 Qualifications: university or regional college studies within engineering
