Job description

We are looking for a Senior C&I Engineer to work for an operator to monitor an EPC in their office in Surrey.

This is a long term contract position.

Ideally, the candidate will be Chartered.

The Control and Instrumentation Engineer will support all aspects of Control and Instrumentation Engineering during the construction, commissioning and start-up of the Project.

The role will report to the Lead Control and Instrumentation Engineer.

The role requires the successful candidate to:

  • Maintain a working knowledge of all relevant codes, standards, and regulations that pertain to the design of Control and Instrumentation systems and equipment.
  • Provide technical input to risk assessments, Management of Change reviews, and project reviews
  • Evaluate requests for deviations or exemptions to the established specifications and standards

Technical support to the construction, commissioning and start-up teams in the following areas: -

  • ICSS Software and Hardware
  • Package Integration
  • Field Instrumentation

Timely response to Site Technical Queries.

Support the Lead Control and Instrumentation Engineer to ensure issues and the discipline scope is managed, ahead of formal project reviews such as PHSSERs.

Experience required:

Demonstrable experience in relevant discipline engineering position.

Deep discipline expertise with good track record of multi discipline integration.

Experience of design and implementation of ICSS.

Experience of Functional Safety and Safety Instrumented System design.

Experience with Instrumentation design and procurement.

Experience of Site construction & commissioning.

Actively engages and respects contributions of others.

Willingly takes the lead when challenges occur.

Be self-motivated with a willingness to learn from others and work with minimum direction.

Anticipates future situations and plans ahead to meet them.
