Orion Group Life Sciences have an exciting opportunity for an Industrial Engineer for our Multinational Pharmaceutical client based in the South of Dublin area on a 24-month contract.


Job Purpose

The Industrial Engineer will have in-depth knowledge of continuous improvement tools, techniques, and methodologies and practical experience applying them to improve the performance of processes, people, and systems. The mandate of this group is to enable teams and business functions to improve operations and reduce waste by improving reliability and efficiency, through the use and application of Continuous Improvement tools, techniques, and methodologies.
They will engage with internal customers to support their efforts to solve complex problems and improve performance.

Main Responsibilities of the role

  • Perform analysis and diagnostics at site level to identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations to leadership
  • Design and delivery of reliability (HRP) and Lean Six Sigma Programs and Projects at the site
  • Coordination of idea generation, project identification, prioritisation and overall selection constantly ensuring that projects are integrated with business strategies
  • Identification and justification of project financial savings
  • Support teams assigned to implementing the recommendations
  • Lead multiple Kaizen events
  • Drive achievement for own projects and projects they are supporting
  • Co-ordination of diagnostics and benchmarking opportunities
  • Management of assessments and confirmations to assess current state and plan for future state
  • Development of standards (labour/machine) and resource modelling
  • Train all levels of the organisation on OE principles and Tools ( HRP and Lean Six Sigma)
  • Coach and mentor Project Sponsors, Black Belts/Green Belts candidates on proper use of tools, improvement processes and deployment issues
  • Encouraging a OE culture by influencing and empowering employees to identify opportunities to apply techniques and tools in everyday work activities
  • Facilitate sharing of OE best practices and project successes across the organization
  • Facilitating Communications and Change Management for key programs and projects
  • Resolution of change management issues arising from OE deployment

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering
  • Lean/Six Sigma cert is required Experience implementing Continuous Improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma, DMAIC, and /or Lean Manufacturing
  • 4 years' experience in a similar role: Manufacturing experience is key
  • Experience in Project Management/ Project Management Certification
  • Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes cGMP, industry regulations, product development, and commercialization
  • Experience in Organizational Change Management
  • Experience developing standards (labour/machine) and performing resource modelling
  • Experience with regulated environments (i.e. cGMP, OSHA, EPA) desirable
  • Strong computer skills and demonstrated expertise with MS Office applications including MS Project
  • Can successfully operate in a matrix or team environment with site, divisional, and corporate executive leadership
