Job Title: Human Resource Assistant

Location: Doncaster, UK

Salary: £19,000 - £21,000 DOE

Contract: Permanent

Orion Groups client is a market leader in the energy field. Our client operates in a fast paced environment and are looking to a Human Resource Assistant, based in their Doncaster site. The Human Resource Assistant will report directly in to the HRBP, who will be looking for the following;

Key Responsibilities

  • Dealing with paperwork in relation to new starts i.e. Work documents, new starter equipment, payroll etc.
  • Populate all new starter documentation (offer letter and welcome pack)
  • Create profiles and files for all new starts
  • Deal with all documentation for employee remuneration.
  • Work with L&D for new start induction and training.
  • Manage the probationary review process i.e. Advise managers in advance and send probationary review form for completion, prior to expiry of the review period, then send appropriate letter to employee
  • Advise HRBP of any concerns over the return of medical questionnaires.
  • Administration of leavers process in a timely manner and forward information to the local payroll department (i.e. populate acknowledgement of resignation letter, update system, check no outstanding monies owed and equipment returned, calculate accrued holidays etc.)
  • Ensure management are completing the correct process with leavers i.e. Exit meetings and surveys
  • Ensure that return to work, self-certifications and sick lines are all reported and filed correctly and flag any that are not
  • Ensure that employee personnel files are kept up to date and cleansed on a regular basis
  • Manage the office HR Administration email inbox ensuring that any urgent enquiries / requests are dealt with in a timely manner
  • Provide general administrative support in all employee relation matters (this may on occasion include taking minutes at i.e. disciplinary meetings etc.)
  • Assist with monthly payroll and pensions information and the administration of benefits
  • Manage the administration of change initiatives i.e. amendment to contracts, benefits etc as directed by the Head of HR /Group HRD
  • Any other reasonable requests and duties as required


  • Previous experience working within a HR environment
  • Excellent IT skills including Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • CIPD qualification desired but not essential
  • Attention to detail is a must in this role
  • Excellent written and communication skills
