Health Safety Environment Manager with a demonstrable history of working in the rail industry required for the dynamic Orion Rail business.

Skilled in ISO 9001, 14001 & 18001, Emergency Management, Workplace Safety, Environmental Awareness, and Safety Management Systems.

Must possess excellent coordination and supervision responsibilities and be recognized within project management leadership functions in complex and challenging environments. Consultative approach, self-motivated with strong negotiating, operational and organizational skills A motivated and diligent team player utilizing excellent communication, interpersonal skills with strong analytical mind-set to learn quickly, to analyze situations, identify requirements and provide solutions. Excellent relationship management, analytical and negotiation skills with proven ability to adapt to multicultural environment.

  • Setting of standards, procedures and their implementation, maintenance and monitoring.

  • Site safety inspections, safety auditing and statutory safety inspections.

  • Effectively appraising safety performance and reporting findings using a variety of mediums; Preparation of reports and statistics for presentation to Senior Management.

  • Writing, reviewing, approving and amending of Safe Systems of Work and Risk Assessments. Monitoring legislative changes through: codes of practice, HSE guidance and other competent sources.

  • The provision of advice on the implementation of current health and safety legislation and assisting in the interpretation and implementation of the various statutory requirements.

  • Leading of accident investigations and the production of subsequent reports detailing events, causation and procedures for prevention of recurrence.

  • Manual handling assessments for prevention of injury and work related upper body limb disorders.

Office safety Management; including general office safety, electrical safety, manual handling, office COSHH and display screen equipment (VDU) assessments.; Engaged in all aspects of HSEQ issues primary responsibilities are HSEQ Policy and procedure. Driving force within the company for certification to 14001 British Standards and OHSAS 18001 with development of current 9001 into certificated Integrated Management System (IMS) Carry out compliance monitoring and the support of operational staff and management so as to ensure compliance to QUENSH and other contract conditions.

Advice on safe systems of work, compilation of Risk and COSHH assessments, training and coaching of staff whilst being mindful at all times of CDM compliance.
