Job description


Our client is currently recruiting for the position of HR Manager, based in Aberdeenshire.

Responsibilities:
* Carry out workforce planning to support business strategy and forecasts
* Take the lead in resolving complex employee relations issues that create significant risk to the business and influence those leading the issues on the appropriate action
* Develop, implement and maintain a talent map and succession plan for the business
* Conduct training needs analysis and strategy in conjunction with the HR Coordinator
* Remain updated with current employment legislation to enable best practice advice and guidance
* Provide coaching to managers across the business areas to address specific people management issues, but also to support the requirement to enhance manager's overall capability and contribution
* Provide advice, guidance and support to team members and work in partnership with Board and managers on all aspects of HR
* Identify HR projects in line with business strategy and lead on implementation by providing pro-active and forward-thinking people support and delivery
* Seek out opportunities for improvement in department procedures and ways of working.
* Assume full accountability to the Board of Management for all Human Resource functions including competencies, training and development
* Influence business thinking and ensure compliance with employment law, adapting HR policies and practices to meet the objectives of the business, understanding and advising business risks
* Manage and drive the HR team, ensuring that you provide correct support as and when required ensuring continual improvement through coaching, training, appraisals and performance management
* Develop, update and review Company HR policies, procedures and documentation ensuring compliance with current legislation and company practice.
* Presenting and/or supporting presentation of HR training and initiatives at various levels when required
* Lead the development and implementation of HR and Training strategies including reward, resourcing and development through a sound generalist HR knowledge and an understanding of how to maximise the resources available
* Provision of support to managers in respect of employment relation issues including but not limited to discipline and grievance and performance management issues and ensuring that they are handled fairly and consistently in line with current legislation
* Managing the apprentice intake and ensuring registration with college and highlight any concerns to Board of Management
* Conduct a training needs analysis budget
* Manage company competency matrix ensuring any updates are actioned with assistance of HR Coordinator
* Ensure HR policies and procedures are known and adhered to by management and staff by Proactively supporting various levels of the business providing advice and making recommendations as required ensuring all people matters are handled in a fair and consistent manner
* Generate employee turnover reports highlighting any trends to Board of Management
* Seek out opportunities for improvement in department procedures and ways of working.
* Mentor and support the HR Coordinator.
* Collating monthly management information for BOM
* Actively work towards creating and maintaining a positive relationship between the HR Department and all other areas of the business.

Experience & Qualifications:
* Written and verbal communication is open, clear, consistent and effective.
* Developing and maintaining a high level of job and professional knowledge/skills and using these to provide an excellent service and achieve organisational objectives.
* CIPD / Human Resources Management Degree or relevant experience
* HR experience in Oil and Gas Industry or similar
* Excellent communication skills, both oral and written
* Ensuring a high level of confidentiality always
* Ability to plan, prioritise and multi-task is required.
* Excellent consultation, interpersonal and reporting skills at all levels
* Self-motivated and able to work under pressure
* Pro-active approach
* Effective team player, ability to coach, mentor and engage employees
* IT literate with intermediate skills in Microsoft Office package.
