Orion Group Life Sciences have an exciting opportunity for a General Operative for our Manufacturing/Cleanroom Facility client based in East Cork area. This is a permanent role.


Job Purpose
This position requires the operator to assemble medical instruments and their subassemblies following drawings and other written and verbal specifications.


Main Responsibilities of the role

  • Assembles plastic and metal components into medical devices using appropriate tooling and equipment, in accordance with approved manufacturing procedures.
  • Completes assigned jobs in accordance with production timelines.
  • Maintains accurate records/documentation related to quality, work in progress and special projects.
  • Performs in-process quality checks on sub-assemblies and finished product.
  • Works with Production Supervisor and/or Engineers to resolve line issues and suggest improvements.
  • Notifies process/tool owner when tools/equipment are in need of maintenance.
  • Maintains clean work station.
  • Adheres to general safety rules, manufacturing procedures, company policies and procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and FDA regulations.
  • Performs additional operators per supervisor direction
  • Trains and assists others as required

Desired Experience and Background of the successful candidate

  • Able to communicate and interact professionally and constructively with the lead, supervisor and co-workers; to enhance teamwork and positive working relationships.
  • Has basic mathematical and measurement skills (adding, subtracting, multiplying, dividing, and understands fractions and decimals).
  • Able to organize and segregate work.
  • Has manual dexterity to work with very small parts.
  • Detail oriented to correctly complete manufacturing paperwork.
  • Ability to follow and execute processes/directions.
  • Ability to read and write English in order to read and interpret manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in clean room environment an advantage
  • Ability to apply training to carry out instructions.
