Job description

Our client is currently recruiting for the position of Functional Safety Engineer, based in Aberdeen.

Responsibilities:
* Provision of specialist Functional Safety Engineering Support to Field Operations teams (across all assets), including o Support roll out and implementation of the L2 requirements, demand rate registers, failure investigation reports, competency, configuration control, asset functional safety management plans etc.
o Undertake audits on asset FS systems as required
* Provision of specialist Functional Safety Engineering Support for Projects and Modifications, including:
o Completing SIL Chair activities as required for planned internal RFM portfolio
o Assisting assets on FSIA generation and FS plans for modifications.
o Auditing contractor FS systems and driving improvements
o Monitoring contractor FS status and monitoring outstanding actions and closeout
* Provision of specialist Functional Safety Engineering Support for Safety Studies and Reassessments (e.g., Re-HAZOP and Safety Case Thorough Review), including:
o Resolution of Functional safety design gaps identified during reassessment / safety studies

Experience & Qualifications:
* Degree in Engineering/Technical Discipline.
* FS TUV FS professional approved and approved for SIL Chair Activities
* Experience with reliability modelling and software - ABB Safety Insight, GRIF
* Strong background and experience in delivery of Functional Safety Support for projects in the oil & gas industry
* Detailed knowledge of legislation/regulations/industry good practice relevant to discipline
* Significant knowledge of offshore/terminal plant and equipment and maintenance systems
* Recognised level of company expertise in technical discipline
* Effective communicator both written and verbal
