Fuel Distribution Supervisor

Our client supply bulk fuels from an extensive network of depots across Scotland. They are currently recruiting for the position of Fuel Distribution Supervisor based in Elgin, Moray.

Job Description

  • Responsible for all aspects of customer fuel orders and their distribution including liaising with 6 drivers and Depot Operative re their daily routes and activities.
  • Planning and routing customer deliveries to ensure all routes are covered in a cost effective and efficient manner, and that loads/routes comply with legal limits and regulations.
  • Check drivers routes are conducted as planned and challenge differences.
  • Co-ordinate, organise and manage planning activities to take into account holidays, regular vehicle maintenance and any potential unforeseen unproductive downtime.
  • Conduct regular Driver meetings re delivery issues, Health & Safety updates, training issues etc.
  • Responsible for supervising Depot Operative to ensure periodic maintenance checks are undertaken timeously and housekeeping of our depot/warehouse areas is to the highest standard.
  • Manage and deal with customer complaints, from initial contact through to suitable and mutual beneficial resolution.
  • Responsible for maintaining adequate levels of fuel stocks at depot(s)
  • Manage and provide suitable supervision and support for Depot Administrator(s)
  • Act as back up cover for depot administrator(s) in the event of sickness and absence.
  • Handling inbound customer telephone calls and fuel enquiries concerning delivery timeframes, pricing and providing quotations.
  • Recording and processing customer orders.
  • Deal with and process face to face customer counter sales.
  • Responsible for strict control of depot stocks through daily stock volume reconciliations.

Skills & Experience

  • Excellent telephone manner & communication skills
  • Strong Customer Service skills
  • Good Geographical Knowledge
  • Must be IT literate
  • Ability to manage both drivers and customers
  • A 'hands on can do' attitude is required
  • Hours - Mon to Fri - 8.00am to 5.00pm

This is a permanent position.

The salary for this position is negotiable.
