Foundations Package Lead for Wind Turbine Foundations

Functional area: Engineering; Renewables

Your key tasks and responsibilities:

  • Managing the concept design of new and novel offshore wind turbine foundation structures for offshore wind turbines, during the origination and development phases of a project
  • Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, as well as external design houses and fabricators to produce cost effective and value-added foundation designs for our development projects
  • Making sure that work is delivered on time and identifying and mitigating any potential delays
  • Maintenance of the high safety standards within the company through intelligent design and risk management
  • Delivery of the detailed design, a safe and high-quality fabrication, and delivery of foundation structures once a project enters the construction phase
  • Ensuring that contractors work safely and work to good industry practice and in accordance with legislation and THE COMPANY's requirements.
  • Management of budget, ensuring delivery to contract requirements and supporting with any variation orders and claims
  • Direction, evaluation, and management of all risks associated with the foundation package within a wider offshore windfarm project
  • Supporting internal stakeholders to implement innovation within the foundations package

You may be required to perform the following activities:

  • Ensure that all lessons learned from our operating fleet are incorporated into future projects and support to Procurement, Quality, and HSSE departments
  • Identification of fields of development and demonstration of savings potentials
  • Manage THE COMPANY's involvement in ground-breaking joint industry and research projects
  • Provide general and specialist engineering knowledge to review and assess the performance of our existing wind turbine foundation structures

Essential skill requirements:

  • A Professional Engineer
  • Experience in large engineering infrastructure projects
  • Knowledge of the local and global HSSE laws and standards
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
  • Good communicator and excellent team player
  • Fluent spoken and written English

Desirable skills:

  • Experience in steel fabrication and offshore engineering
  • Member of a professional engineering body
  • Demonstrable experience of working effectively in an international business
