Financial Reporting Accountant - 929202

  • The financial reporting team are seeking a qualified accountant to join the team, who is a quick learner and demonstrates a commitment to effective teamwork.

  • As a part of the Financial Reporting Team, this role is responsible for key aspects of our Monthly accounting close process and assisting with financial reporting for the division.
  • The role also provides the opportunity to demonstrate initiative in identifying and implementing process improvements.
  • The position supports the Financial Reporting Team in the provision of financial information to Divisional and Corporate Management.
  • This is a great opportunity for someone who can work independently with various stakeholders.

As a Financial Reporting Accountant, you will play a key role in delivering best-in-class Financial support to several Stakeholders across the business.

Intercompany

  • Responsible for review of all intercompany transactions across several Jurisdictions
  • Working with various stakeholder to resolve issues.
  • Responsible for analysing and periodic repayment of all intercompany balances.

Bank Account

  • Responsible for booking the remaining transactions not automatically posted including Trade and JV receivable receipts.
  • Working with various stakeholder to resolve issues.

Fixed Asset and Month-end Accounting

  • Responsible for Capital settlements ensuring minimal uncleared capital at month-end.
  • Running DD&A and reconciling exploration expense, DD&A and accretion to expected results for group and local statutory reporting
  • Prepare monthly Fixed Asset accounting entries in compliance with IFRS

Reconciliations and analysis

  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations to support group reporting and analysis assigned to the role to ensure accuracy and proactively bring any irregularities to resolution.
  • Prepare and coordinate the working capital analysis and proactively work with other Finance team members to ensure there is continuous improvement of the analysis.

SAP Company Closure

  • Assist with any company liquidations ensuring the Financial Statements and SAP are clean and work with other stakeholders to ensure appropriate entries are booked.
  • Responsible for proactively closing companies in SAP once the entity has been liquidated.
  • This involves working with stakeholders to ensure a thorough review has been completed and documented before the SAP company is closed.
  • Provide monthly progress updates on progress and issues
  • Maintaining and enhancing the documentation by working with various stakeholders.
  • Assist with any local or corporate process enhancement initiatives.
  • Ensure adherence to all relevant SOX controls.
  • Maintenance and continuous improvement of processes and process documentation.
  • Provide support and coverage across the Financial Reporting team as required
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required.

Successful candidates will be:

  • Qualified Accountant with a grounding in IFRS.
  • Quick learner with a structured approach to problem-solving.
  • Flexibility in their working style to adapt to changing environments and priorities
  • An effective communicator and will be able to work with all levels in the organisation.

Preferential but not essential (training can be provided):

  • Oil and Gas experience
  • SAP and BI

Other

  • This is a part time position (3 days per week)
