The Orion Group are delighted to be partnering with an incredibly prestigious and successful organisation in Glasgow area who are looking to recruit an experienced Financial Controller. This will, in essence, be a number one finance position reporting into the Managing Director with a dotted line into Group Finance. You will be responsible for the gathering and reporting of financial data including trends and detailed analysis. This is a really exciting opportunity for significant career development where you will be able to grow both in experience personally and within the company.

You will be responsible for overseeing the financial management and controls within the region with a strong focus on the accuracy and reporting of the numbers.

Reporting into the Managing Director the main deliverable's are:

  • Lead and manage the experienced commercial finance team on a daily basis
  • Create and develop internal relationships across the business
  • Responsibility for the monthly management account process
  • Play a pivotal role in the financial planning process
  • Responsible for the setting of the annual budget with the senior management team
  • Ensure that costs are managed effectively and if necessary promote various cost saving initiatives
  • Be an active member of the senior management team and contribute towards the strategic vision of the company
  • Continuously review and ensure the KPI model is fit for purpose and if not make adjustments
  • Ad hoc duties as required

This is a Senior finance position and so there is a need for an experience financial leader and someone who has operated at a high level in a pressurised environment. You will possess excellent analytical skills and will be a natural problem solver. It is essential that you are an effective communicator and that you can influence and challenge where appropriate.
