Orion Group are delighted to be working on an exclusive basis with a growing multi-national company based in East Kilbride in the search for an experienced finance analyst to join an expanding finance team on a permanent basis.

Working in a finance team of around 10 you will be based in modern offices with on site parking and up to date equipment to assist you with the job such as dual screen PCs, recent applications and a large work station.

What is involved in the role:

Budgets and forecasts

  • Develop and improve the financial planning models and ensure all have been documented in the correct manor with relevant notes attached
  • Create / design annual budgets and plans to work alongside the business and challenge key assumptions
  • Thoroughly forecasting on a quarterly basis taking into account all possible scenarios

Business

  • Build the relevant relationships with management, i.e. finance, marketing, sales, IT
  • Work alongside these relationships to understand the business and its current state
  • Streamline processes to improve productivity
  • Challenge and seek opportunities to increase income and reduce cost
  • Provide financial analysis when required
  • Create special products to improve process efficiency
  • Look to identify and eliminate non value add processes currently within the business

Reporting

  • Display senior management with the analysis and information they need to make key decisions in a timely manor
  • Measure KPIs for the business (UK and Overseas)
  • Strong on Excel usage, you will be preparing complex financial reports, charts, tables and other displays when requested

  • Self motivated
  • Ability to conduct research, analysis and resolution of complex issues
  • Must have commercial acumen
  • Open and flexible, you will work closely with the team and CFO
  • Strong can do attitude

Skills and Experience:

  • Must have a degree in Accounting/ Finance/ Economics, College or University
  • Very strong and demonstrable experience of Excel (Pivots and Vlookups) to a high standard to ensure finance modelling skills
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail (limit mistakes)
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment with tight deadlines

Ideally candidates will be available for interview on short notice and have a notice period of no more than 1 month as there is a short handover period required.
