Orion Group are recruiting for a Financial Analyst on behalf of our Multinational Medical Devices Client on an initial 12 month contract which is based in Cork.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Inventory reporting & Accounting

* Support month end process for GSC Management Accounting to ensure accurate and timely reporting
* Monthly inventory reconciliations
* Preparation of month-end P&L and B/S reconciliations and schedules, eg PPV, FAA, Write offs, SLOB
* Calculation and analysis of GMED and quarterly E&O reserves
* Accounting for Instruments
* Calculation of DSI
* Liaising with WW Finance business partners on Inventory related matters
* Drive improvements and lean culture. Challenge established norms and processes to deliver tangible benefits in scope of control, predictability, efficiency and effectiveness
* Take ownership to ensure accounting and reporting procedures and practices are fully compliant with SOX and internal control guidelines
* Become a valued member of the Finance team, taking on additional tasks and responsibilities as required.


Business Partnering

* Primary Business Partner with GMED ensuring full understanding of key drivers of their financials and working with them to ensure business commitments are met and often exceeded
* Build relationships with global Plan Senior Leadership & functional heads, and support them to drive sustainable inventory reductions
* Create value for the Global Ortho Plan function by developing strategies with business partners to improve efficiencies and deliver business plan targets, with a particular focus on the Joints business
* Drive financial accountability, ensuring that the financial implications of operational decisions are considered

Business Plan and Forecasts

* Accurate, timely, and complete financial forecasts, reports, submissions & analytics for WW Joints Inventory (Gross, Net) and associated reserves
* Ensure alignment & transparency between P&L and Balance Sheet assumptions relating to inventory items

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

Essential:
* Bachelors degree or equivalent
* Qualified ACCA, ACA or CIMA accountant
