Leading international commodities and energy company based in central London is looking to recruit a Finance Analyst for their business.

This is an OPPORTUNITY for an organised, detailed, pro-active and financially minded graduate to gain a broad range of experience and to learn and develop. There will be opportunities to be involved with various aspects of the finance function and to learn about the company and sector. This role will help develop your financial analysis skills in relation to the budget and forecasting process.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting with the accurate and timely preparation of monthly financial accounts and associated reporting for a number or companies within the group.


  • Collate government and contract compliance reports
  • Collation of management reporting packs
  • Assist in preparation of budget and forecast presentations
  • Review internal controls to ensure compliance
  • Support group year end audit, joint ventures and tax audits
  • Support allocated teams with budgets, forecasts and reports
  • Assist with the preparation of annual and quarterly tax returns
  • Assist with preparation of external regulatory reporting
  • Business partnering with department heads

Month end duties

  • Preparation of bank reconciliations and inter-company confirmations
  • Calculation, preparation and input of journal entries
  • Monthly financial model updates
  • Running of financial reports


  • Accounting/Business/Economics Degree (2:1)
  • Studying - ACA/CIMA/ACCA essential
  • Part Qualified/Finalist preferred
  • Relevant/demonstrable experience in a similar role at least 2 years, ideally within a group function
  • Highly numerical
  • Energy/Oil & Gas sector - highly preferred
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong IT skill including MS Excel and PowerPoint - essential
  • Clear, concise and confident communication skills
  • Professional in presentation and manner
  • Driven to learn and develop
  • Strong work ethic
  • Highly organised and deadline orientated
