A Qualified Accountant is required for a leading practice firm based near Esher - ACCA preferred. The successful Finance Manager will have demonstrable experience of managing a team, this role has 5 direct reports, and worked within a leading firm of chartered accountants.

This growing and exceptional firm is seeking a Finance/Client Manager, looking after 2 payroll clerks and 3 bookkeepers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing the day to day running of the teams, overseeing and dealing with any client issues and developing the department.

Responsibilities

  • Managing the business services department - 100 plus business services/VAT clients and over 200 payroll clients
  • Cover for both payroll and VAT when necessary
  • Meeting new clients and providing quotations
  • Preparation of client management accounts
  • Accruals, prepayments and journals
  • Record the daily financial transactions for the clients
  • Maintenance of purchases, sales, receipts and payments
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Preparation of VAT returns, EC sales and ensuring VAT schemes are correct
  • Client VAT registration
  • Payroll and auto enrolment queries
  • Dealing with queries and HMRC correspondence
  • Training new staff
  • Processing payrolls
  • Review VAT return and payrolls and deadlines are met
  • Ensuring budgets are achieved
  • Raising invoices
  • Keeping up to date with payroll and VAT legislation - external courses

Requirements

  • ACCA Qualified with a minimum 5 years management experience
  • Good academic record
  • A driver is essential due to location and client visits
  • Experience of working in a busy/leading firm of chartered accountants
