Job description

Our Client, a leading supply partner and manufacturer of marine equipment, technology and services, currently have a full-time staff vacancy for a Group Finance Manager to join their head office based in Inverness.

Reporting to the Finance Director, the role is critical to the successful reporting of monthly performance, quarterly performance and will oversee the preparation of the Group Annual Financial Statements.

The successful post holder will ensure the timely delivery of the audit process and the financial statements, which is one of the key objectives of the role.

In addition they will develop existing processes and systems to improve the monthly and corporate reporting, to deliver timely and insightful information enabling business decisions to be made.

Role responsibilities:

  • Preparation of monthly consolidated accounts for all stakeholders

  • Management information and KPI reporting to senior management

  • Motivate, lead and support Finance Team members

  • Provision of information for the quarterly reporting packs for the Group Consolidation in accordance with the reporting timetables

  • Oversee the annual audit process and the preparation of the Financial Statements in accordance with the agreed timetable for the specific legal entities within the development project

  • Development of a continuous improvement culture

  • Supporting and leading change programmes, helping to support the Finance Director and Finance Team to deliver a step change improvement in processes

Requirements - Skills/ Experience:

  • Relevant experience - the role would suit a current Finance Manager who wishes to join a growing company with large scale growth ambitions or alternatively a strong Management Accountant who wishes to take the next step in their career

  • Strong technical background and skill set

  • Excellent communication skills - in all forms for each audience

  • Experience of working in several accounting systems with strong Excel skills

  • Proven track record of delivering and implementing change with a passion for improvement

  • Broad and varied experiences in role

  • Confident manner and ability to work well under pressure

  • Willingness to grow and expand their role as the Group grows

  • Ability to work well within a team and autonomous environment

  • Working knowledge of Project Accounting/Management - deadline/ delivery focused

  • Attention to detail, well-developed analytical skills and willing to participate and support the finance team as well as wider company operations

  • Flexible approach to support other areas of the finance function or business as and when required
