Orion Group are delighted to be working with a country wide business based in the City Centre, just a short walk from both Queen Street and Glasgow Central stations. We are looking for an experience Finance Analyst to work alongside the Head of Finance Systems in the transformation and improvement of financial reporting and processes.

You will initially be brought in on a 12 month fixed term contract however this could be extended if the role is carried out well.

What is involved in the role:

  • You will work alongside various functions of the business including Finance and IT to ensure proper understanding and analysis of the departments and goings on
  • Data and reporting through the ORACLE package
  • Mapping, budget and forecast of processes and recommending areas for process improvement, keeping within the guidelines of the business
  • Analysis and re design of accounts chart to ensure it meets various needs, modern business structure and reporting and systems security
  • Analyse and track the changes to above on staff, systems, processes, outputs, inputs and controls etc
  • Mostly you will provide analysis and recommendations going into group process improvements which will impact the finance organisation working closely with cross functional teams from inception through to the delivery
  • Support and progress the design of the ORACLE data warehouse with appropriate controls and procedures in place to ensure smooth running
  • Work alongside business representatives to ensure all requirements of the project are discusses and noted
  • Produce document listing account codes
  • Document current and future state budget and forecast processes including details of process improvement undertaken

Skills and Experience:

  • Ideally a qualified Accountant (CIMA, ACCA, ICAS) or similar
  • Experience of process improvement, financial reporting and lead practise planning and budgeting
  • Understanding of financial control and governance framework
  • Expert in the knowledge of MS office, Excel , PowerPoint, MS Project and Visio, Oracle (Hyperion)
  • Ability to work with all levels of colleagues in the organisation
