Orion Group are delighted to be working with a well known energy business with offices throughout Scotland in the search for a fully qualified accountant with a risk, controls, analysis and SOX background to join the group finance team on a 12 month initial contract.

What is involved in the role:

  • You will support a core SOX lite implementation team to roll out SOX lite across the large scale business, ensuring that all expected legislative requirements and agreed time lines are met throughout the process

  • Continually support stakeholders across the business to document their key processes and controls in accordance with the SOX lite documentation template,

  • Must be strong at producing flowcharts, process narratives and the risk and controls matrix for any given process area.

  • Analyse processes and controls working with process owners to identify their key risks and how they are being mitigated by their key controls

  • Responsible for helping identify internal control deficiencies and work with the business to implement appropriate corrective actions.

  • This role will also involve performing controls effectiveness testing as required, therefore familiarity with both financial and IT controls is essential.

  • Must have an understanding of SOX
  • Strong MS Excel Experience

Extra information/ desirable experience:

  • Envisio software experience would be beneficial
  • Internal audit experience
  • Any experience of working on complex accounting projects would be beneficial
  • Previous experience of SOX is beneficial
  • Big 4 background would be advantageous
  • Ability to work from home and off your own initiative
  • Up to 10% bonus offered based on yearly performance
  • 37 hours per week, some flexible working included
