Job Description - Field Sales Representative Aberdeen

The Field Sales Representative shall report directly to the Business Development Manager. In the absence of the Business Development Manager then reporting shall be to the VP Sales/VP Ops.

The Field Sales Representative shall be responsible for actively promoting the company at every opportunity to both prospective new clients and exiting clients, ensuring that frequency and mode of contact are appropriate to developing/maintaining, productive long term relationships. This shall include all aspects of; client liaison, promotion of company services, provision/co-ordination of technical support, and problem recognition/resolution.

Through close communication with the extended operations/projects group, and ongoing interrogation of the Company database, the Field Sales Representative shall ensure that all enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally.

  • Responsible for maintaining stringent sales discipline including effective planning and organisation of meetings to optimise customer contact time.

  • Responsible for updating the Company database on an ongoing and timely basis, accurate recording of leads generated via Sales Reports and / or Enquiry Logs, appropriate proactive Cross-Company communication of the opportunities, and prompt follow up actions with the customers.

  • Responsible for identifying and securing new business leads and either converting these leads to secured business directly, or indirectly alongside the project leads.

  • Responsible for securing additional business through focused prospecting in accordance with the Company sales plan and agreed priorities.

  • Responsible for actively tracking both industry and client activity in the company's key markets. Completing desktop research studies as requested by the Business Development Manager.

  • Achieving growth from within existing accounts by adding value to Clients through cross selling existing products, introduction of additional complementary service lines and provision of innovative / alternative solutions.

  • Responsible for ongoing review and status monitoring of enquiries within the Company database to ensure that no opportunity is missed, and that Client expectation, in terms of quality and timing of response are met / exceeded.

  • Responsible for securing additional business through attendance at key seminars, exhibitions and trade fairs in accordance with the Company sales plan and agreed priorities.

  • Responsible for assisting the Business Development Manager, and wider sales team, with the creation of the Company sales plan and associated budgets.

  • Responsible for Client entertainment and co-ordination of corporate events where and when appropriate.

  • Responsible, in conjunction with the Business Development Manager and/or Contracts Manager, for the compilation of Client prequalification documents, tender submissions and the likes.

  • Responsible, in conjunction with the Business Development Manager and Marketing Officer, for the ongoing update, review and development of Company literature and presentation materials including brochures, sales specification sheets, case studies etc.
