Objective (Purpose of Position)

To ensure all the process engineering work is meeting the Company's process and related facilities requirements and within schedule limits to meet the overall target of the specific project.

Responsibilities,

Evaluate the plant modification requests involving a wide variety of process elements or problems and recommends appropriate solutions and/or acceptance or rejection of proposed changes as necessary.

Advises on process engineering activities related to the Company's existing and proposed processes.

Study various technical problems/facilities and provides expert technical advice as and when requested.

Analyze the various requests of engineering support through supervisor, which may involve one of several technical activities, such as to carry out conceptual design, evaluate consultants design packages, inspect suspected faults on site or to provide simple advice on process matters etc.

Prepares conceptual designs for major and minor process related projects or for projects that have a process design content, inclusive of cost estimates and scopes of work

Advises consultants of conceptual design on standards to be used and briefs them on local specifications.

Supervises Design performance and checks their completed design package to ensure completeness, quality of work and adherence to standards and Company requirements.

Participates with technical team in interfacing, coordinating and implementing all technical issues during engineering, construction and commissioning phases.

Perform process simulations and develop Process Flow Diagrams (PFD's) and Heat and Material Balances

Periodically participate in HAZOP studies, Assist in Plant start-up and performance testing, as required

Supporting Engineering Management and Site Management as required

Position Requirement

A minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in Chemical or Mechanical Engineering

A minimum of 10 years of proven working experience in Process Engineering.

Experience in process simulations, with working knowledge of process engineering software packages and Knowledge of process related standards.

Experience in different process industry, either upstream, downstream, gas plants or with engineering and construction major contractors.

Having Training Certifications shall be given preference.

Having Project Management Certification such as PMP shall be given preference.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills

Good knowledge of chemical engineering simulation software.

Strong working knowledge of Process simulators, PipeSim, HYSYS, etc.

Intermediate to advanced level skills with Microsoft Office software and Windows Operating system. EXCEL skills required.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Good command of written and spoken English and Arabic with professional report writing and presentation skills.

Detail orientated and able to prioritize workload and meet deadlines.

Effective analytical and problems solving skills.
