Job description

Key Accountabilities:

  • Demonstration of safe, effective and ethical working behaviours.
  • Adherence to management system requirements for engineering activities.
  • Delivery of engineering tasks to schedule, budget and quality requirements.
  • Maintain and promote high personal standards in environment, safety, health, security and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Apply domain and technical knowledge for design intent, as-built standards and system performance through life for engineered systems and structures.
  • Interpret and deliver the requirements of issued tasks from the Asset Engineering Solutions order book (including troubleshooting, quoting, reporting, design, commissioning, and handover as required), and make evidence based professional engineering decisions to solve technical problems within area of responsibility.
  • Identify and escalate business risk arising from condition of engineered systems and structures.
  • Demonstrate adherence to management system requirements and relevant technical standards.
  • Engage with company delivery and administrative requirements; report own and team progress honestly and clearly, communicate in an engaging manner, support performance management.
  • Optimise the delivery of Operations Engineering.

The role will include -

  • Applying your expertise in electrical building services and associated plant to deliver engineered solutions.
  • Fulfilling the role of intelligent customer, ensuring business objectives and requirements of managed engineering solutions or activities are met by internal or external service providers.
  • Demonstrating adherence to company management system requirements, relevant technical standards and legislation, and business controls.
  • Applying Maintenance & Reliability Principles; enact as directed by planning, output from Failure Modes and Effects Analysis.
  • Reviewing relevant metrics and contribute to KPI's and other reporting as required.
  • Assisting in Reliability Centred Maintenance planning and perform Root Cause Analysis.

Must have -

  • Knowledge of electrical engineering.
  • Knowledge of Plant and facility Engineered Systems.
  • Project Management.
  • Hazard Identification and Risk Control (safe systems of work).
  • Leadership skills.
  • May lead projects but won't be a line manager.

We would welcome applications from candidates who -

  • Minimum qualification L4 NQF (HNC) with suitable additional experience.
  • Knowledge of electrical building services (LV/HV, HVAC, lighting, power, lightning protection, ATEX, UPS etc.).
  • A good awareness of relevant legislation and supporting ACOP, and common industry standards.
  • Experience within the higher hazard / regulated industries (e.g. nuclear, petro-chem, pharma etc. (Desirable but not essential).
  • Membership of an engineering institution and/or Incorporated Engineer or equivalent (Desirable).
