Facilities Technician (3-5 Years Experience)
Location: Onsite - Spencer Road Location, Houston, TX (Spencer Road - FM 529)
Employment Type: Full-time, Contract 6+ months
Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Facilities Technician with 3-5 years of hands-on experience in a fast-paced, large-volume environment. The role involves general maintenance, repairs, and installation tasks across office and lab spaces. The ideal candidate will have expertise in HVAC systems, electrical repairs, plumbing, and other mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
- General Repairs & Maintenance: Perform minor repairs, including hardware replacement, patching, painting, sealing, and tile replacement.
- HVAC & Mechanical Systems: Troubleshoot, dismantle, repair, or replace HVAC system components, electrical systems, and other mechanical devices.
- Safety & Compliance: Adhere to building safety, fire, OSHA, and ADA regulations while maintaining a clean, orderly work environment.
- Facility Services: Repair or install facility lighting, service hydraulic, gas, and pneumatic piping systems, and handle stock levels for materials, subassemblies, and tools.
- Vendor Coordination: Direct and monitor external service providers and maintain cost data for work requests.
- Work Logging & Documentation: Interface with maintenance request logs and document facility conditions during audits.
- Additional Tasks: Perform cleanup of office and R&D facilities as needed, transport materials within the facility, and ensure compliance with safety and environmental policies.
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3-5 years of experience in facilities maintenance or a related role.
Skills:
- Knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical systems, and safety codes (building, fire, OSHA, ADA).
- Ability to troubleshoot HVAC systems and read electrical diagrams.
- Strong verbal communication skills and ability to work well in a team.
- Proficiency in reading and understanding technical manuals, blueprints, and memos.
- Basic math skills.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required.

Previous experience in a fast-paced, large-volume manufacturing environment.

Additional Information:
- Full-time contract position with the potential for extension or conversion based on performance.
